The President called on the speech in the first session of the 11th Parliament today at the Parliament House.
President Abdul Hamid said that the government’s overall efforts to maintain the rule of law in the country are consolidated and upheld. Anti-Corruption Commission has been strengthened to establish good governance. National Human Rights Commission and Information Commission have been established. The rule of law has been established by abolishing the infamous ‘indemnity’ law. The verdict of Bangabandhu murder case and war crimes and crimes against humanity has been enforced. Attempts to bring the fugitive accused back home are continuing. Apart from this, the trial of 21 August grenade attack and murder case and the BDR killings case has been completed and the court has given punishment to the accused for different periods. The government’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy has been very successful in preventing drug, militancy and extremism, which has been praised worldwide and has brought relief to the public.
Abdul Hamid said that the Jatiya Sangsad is the center for the aspiration of the people of the country. Without national consensus, peace and prosperity can not get permanent form. Opposition parties have to play a constructive role in addition to the transparency, accountability, tolerance of tolerance, human rights and the rule of law and the successful implementation of the dreams and aspirations of the nation. I call upon the government and opposition parties to jointly play a proper and effective role in this great parliament. He said, after the assumption of the new government, new life has been propagated in national life. Hopefully, the government-initiated initiatives in other areas will be more integrated and dynamic. In 2020, we will celebrate the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of Independence as a middle-income country in 2021. The President said, the vision of the nation will be annexed to our vision, beyond 2021, in Bangladesh, in 2041, the world will be anointed with a rich and prosperous country in the world. I will be able to build a welfare state, with strong hopeful human rights, establishment of good governance and social justice, institutionalization of democracy and direct public involvement at all levels of society.
The President said that to uphold the glorious independence of the blood of three lakh martyrs and to eliminate the spirit of the Liberation War, the Bangalee nation will have to work together to build the Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangla Gold Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangla Bangladeshi society by completely eliminating terrorism, drug abuse, corruption and militancy from the country.
With the opportunity to give a speech in the beginning of the first session of the 11th Parliament of the 11th Parliament formed by the free, fair, peaceful and neutral elections in all parties’ participation in continuation of parliamentary democracy, I am grateful to the Most Gracious God. The President highlighted the development of the country and said that Bangladesh has achieved all successes in the development of socio-economic development more than the target of the project. Bangladesh has achieved all the qualification of the developing nation class. This progress in Bangladesh has been widely appreciated. He said that the previous government, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has adopted the ‘Bangladesh Perspective Plan’ as a long-term plan for the first time and the 6th and 7th ‘Five-Year Plan’ as a medium-term plan. In the meantime, the sixth ‘Five Year Plan’ has been successfully implemented. The implementation process involves about 82 percent of the SDGs with the 7th Five-Year Plan. In order to build a prosperous Bangladesh by 2041, a project titled ‘Formulating Bangladesh Vision 2041’ has been adopted. Besides, the century-old ‘delta plan 2,100’ has been made. In the process of connecting Bangladesh to the highway of prosperity by 2030. I firmly believe that the present government led by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be fully able to achieve these desired goals before the scheduled time.
